I have been guided throughout by Prof. Abhijit Mukherjee to produce the doctoral thesis entitled “Provenance and fate of arsenic-enriched groundwater in parts of the Brahmaputra river basin aquifers”My Ph.D. research has proposed a model to describe the geological control and effect of water–sediment interaction on contaminant (arsenic) fate and transport in the groundwater system of the Brahmaputra river basin aquifers, which is upstream of the Bengal basin, India. During my Ph.D., I worked in groundwater geochemistry, aquifer characterization (sediments/minerals properties), geochemical cycling of redox-sensitive solutes/trace metals, groundwater contamination and hydrogeochemical modeling for suitable and sustainable drinking water sources in various parts of the Brahmaputra river basin. My expertise includes aquifer characterization (sediments/minerals properties), geochemical modeling, sediment-water interaction, thermodynamic simulation,contaminant (inorganic) fate and transport, groundwater arsenic pollution and water quality assessment. I have worked as a project scientist at the CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), India from September 2018 to May 2019 and as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the School of Earth, Ocean, and Climate Sciences, Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar. Presently, I am a Scientist at Geological Oceanography Department, CSIR - National Institute of Oceanography, Goa, India, working on coastal marine hydrology and estuarine-marine system.
